Guus Hiddink: ‘Didier Drogba’s heart is with Chelsea’
“Guus Hiddink has taken temporary charge at struggling EPL giant Chelsea after the club announced they’d sacked coach Jose Mourinho overnight following the club’s disastrous run in the English Premier League”, the online FFA report read.
As Chelsea beat Sunderland 3-1 under the temporary command of Steve Holland, Hiddink watched from the stands at Stamford Bridge with owner Roman Abramovich and former striker Didier Drogba, who has been linked with a coaching role.
Zenden, who played for Chelsea between 2001 and 2004 and was an assistant to Rafael Benitez during his stint as manager, told Omnisport : “He’s a well experienced manager”. It is going to be hard to win every game, we know that. In a rather interesting turn of events, most players actually played well, which is either highly annoying or entirely expected, depending on just how you view Mourinho’s time and influence at Chelsea this season.
“The last 10 years we have had such good times and the fans have supported us through this hard period and we will come out on top, sooner or later, if we keep putting in performances like that”.
“The first half they played well in general. Whatever has happened stays in the past and now we want to work hard with the new manager to get a good result against Watford”.
“I am excited to return to Stamford Bridge”, Hiddink said in a statement on the Chelsea website.
French worldwide M’Vila was at a loss to explain why Sunderland were so hapless in the opening 45 minutes against the reigning Premier League champions, despite a tense atmosphere in West London which saw home fans boo Diego Costa and Cesc Fabregas, and chant the name of the departed Mourinho.
“You’ve always got to try at this level and where we are to score the first goal, that’s the big challenge for us”.
“The worrying thing for me is that again the personnel haven’t carried out instructions and again I have had to change things”.
