Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop gets publishing imprint at Grand Central
With the birth of Goop Press, a brand new imprint at Grand Central Publishing, the 43-year-old’s lifestyle empire will now extend into the coveted world of books.
Gwyneth Paltrow is consciously coupling with the publishing industry. “I’m very, very lucky in that I have a partner who is willing to do it with me in a really collaborative way”, she said. (It has become an annual tradition for the media to click its tongue at a few of the outlandish product suggestions published in the site’s annual holiday guide.) “This year we actually have a number of gift guides, but one of them is just called ‘Ridiculous, ‘” Paltrow laughed.
But overall, the movie star said that she was “really glad that happened because it opens a discussion in terms of that maybe there is a gentler way to do that”.
“Like what if you could break up in a way where you remain a family even though you’re not in a couple?” she pointed out, seeming to cite her and Martin’s own amicable relationship post-split, which includes co-parenting their children, Apple, 10. and Moses, 9.
“I think there’s a trip to space on there, and a hot air balloon or something”. Like, I’m very forthcoming about my proclivity for martinis and a cigarette at a party once in a while, and french fries, and cheese. Expect one Goop-brand book release per year, along with three “other books” written from Goop editors and contributors.
Paltrow quipped, “I believe in sex, laughter and food”. We’re living in such an exciting time where women feel that they have the capability and the permission to expand and to go into different areas.
“That may sound a little simple but I suddenly feel very grateful to be alive and if it’s coming across then that’s great to hear”, he added. “All of my high school friends who I’ve grown up with and kindergarten friends, they’re all married”, she says. You understood what those sets of values were.
