Gwyneth Paltrow Spills Some Beans On Her Past Relationships!
The Goop creator, Gwyneth Paltrow, 42, opened up about her exes Brad Pitt and Ben Affleck in a candid chat on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM radio show, on Wednesday.
The Mortdecai star met Brad Pitt on the set of the 1995 film Seven. The couple dated for about 3 years, got engaged in 1996, and called it quits in 1997. The Shakespeare In Love actress revealed that her father, late director, Bruce Paltrow and her mother actress Blythe Danner completely approved of her relationship with Pitt. Her father was very fond of Brad Pitt and loved him like his son. Apparently, her father was devastated when they broke up.
Paltrow blamed her young age (she was 22 when they first met) for the failure of her relationship with Brad Pitt. She revealed that she was not ready and Pitt was too good for her. The painful breakup, reportedly affected her for many years.
The Iron Man actress further spoke about her other ex Ben Affleck, whom she dated on and off again from 1997 to 2000. Paltrow costarred with Affleck, playing his love interest in 2000 flop Bounce. She revealed that although her parents appreciated Ben for his intelligence, talent and humour, they weren’t too happy with the relationship. The Oscar winner who still is friendly with her ex, has nothing but praises for Affleck’s wife Jennifer Garner.
Paltrow also talked about her “conscious uncoupling” with her husband, Coldplay front man Chris Martin. The couple split in March 2014 after 10 years of marriage. The actress revealed that she was in love with his music that helped her cope with the death of her father in 2002. The estranged couple shares a strong friendship and often hangs out together for the sake of their two kids.
