Gwyneth Paltrow Wishes To “Stay Married” with Chris Martin
Gwyneth Paltrow, 41 and, Chris Martin, 37, met in 2002, during the touring of his band Coldplay. After a brief dating period, they got married in 2003, when Paltrow got pregnant. They were blessed with daughter Apple Blythe Alison Martin, in May, 2004.
The couple’s second child, son Moses Bruce Anthony Martin, was born in April, 2006. However, the much in love couple decided to part ways in March 2014, after almost 10 years of marriage. In a joint statement, the actress and her husband (posted on her website, Goop), wrote a statement titled “Conscious Uncoupling” to announce their separation.
Post the amicable separation, the couple has remained the best of friends. The “Iron Man” actress admitted in an interview to a magazine that it would have been better for them to stay married, particularly for the sake of their children. But Paltrow and Chris have been working on solidifying their friendship and they are quite close. Paltrow and the Coldplay frontman have become L.A. neighbors since splitting, with Martin moving just across the street. The estranged couple has been snapped by the photographers dining out, going on a family vacation and celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas with their kids.
The Mortdecai star revealed that the relationship happened too fast and Martin was just 25 years old. The two met post Paltrow’s famous dad, producer-director Bruce Paltrow’s death in October 2002. Martin supported her through the difficult time and they got close to each other. Paltrow admits that Martin may have been too young for the relationship but he has remained a pillar of strength for her.
The Oscar winner has kept herself busy since her split, concentrating on her Goop lifestyle site and acting. Apart from keeping a strong bond with Martin, Paltrow also values her friendships with women and wishes that women should stop being vitriolic towards other women.
