“Hail, Caesar!” trailer: George Clooney and Scarlett Johansson shine in
As if we didn’t have enough movies to look forward to between now and the end of this year, it’s already time to start looking ahead to next year. From George Clooney’s Roman general fluffing his lines to the camp story driving the project, there will be ample light-hearted jokes littered throughout, just don’t call Hail, Caesar! a musical comedy.
The new Coen brothers movie Hail, Caesar! released the first-look trailer today.
They arent the brothers most popular films, but I absolutely adore how George Clooney plugs into their particular sense of humor.
The physical comedy and the timing found throughout this Hail, Caesar! trailer is a marvel, and could be used to teach up-and-comers about how to space a joke on screen.
As explained by composer Carter Burwell, Hail, Caesar! earlier, one of the actresses asks his character, “Gonna be a star, Oliver?” to which he responds “Gonna try”. It’s going to be rather serious, and it’s about faith. The comedy has a February 5 release date.
The Coens produced this under their Mike Zoss Productions banner alongside Working Title Films’ Eric Fellner and Tim Bevan. The two will be joined by Channing Tatum, Tilda Swinton, Ralph Fiennes, Jonah Hill, Frances McDormand, Christopher Lambert and Scarlett Johansson.
