#HailMary: Packers Quarterback Aaron Rodgers Throws 61-Yard Touchdown Pass to

The Lions started the game off very well.

Richard Rodgers, drifting toward the end zone while teammates and opponents crowded behind him, leaped and made the catch on the 61-yard play to give the Green Bay Packers a stunning 27-23 victory over the Detroit Lions on Thursday night.

The NFL’s top official defended the face-mask call against the Detroit Lions that gave the Green Bay Packers an untimed down for Aaron Rodgers’ Hail Mary touchdown pass. The Packers are 8-4 and beat the Vikings in the teams’ first meeting this season in Minneapolis.

“No, we weren’t in the position to defend that”. “I think, when you watch the play live, I was just like everybody else – you thought, ‘That’s a facemask.’ Then you see the replay, and it’s a lot closer than it initially seemed”.

DEFENSIVE PUSH: Green Bay’s banged-up offensive line is in rough shape. James Starks fumbled near the goal line, but Randall Cobb was there to recover in the end zone to cut the Lions lead to 20-7.

The Green Bay Packers knew they were in trouble and that only a miracle could possibly save them from falling lower in the league rankings.

Aaron Rodgers finished 24 of 36 for 289 yards with two TDs and an interception. It looked like the two teams would continue heading in opposite directions until the Packers’ offence woke up in the second half with Rodgers tossing two touchdowns and running one in himself before the Hail Mary.
