Half-sister suspected in kidnapping of slain woman’s kids near LA
The pair is wanted for kidnapping Harvill’s children – Joslynn Watkins, 2; Brayden Watkins, 3; and Rylee Watkins, 5 – and a warrant has been issued for their arrest, according to authorities.
The three kidnapped children of a woman whose body was found in Gorman have been located safely at a motel outside Albuquerque, New Mexico, authorities said.
Homicide investigators are now looking for Harvill’s half-sister, Brittany Humphrey, and Joshua Robertson.
Robertson and Humphrey were last seen with Harvill’s three children and have fled the state, sheriff’s officials said in a news release.
Detectives in Los Angeles County are searching for Joshua Robertson and Brittney Humphrey.
Robertson and Humphrey are wanted for kidnapping Harvill’s children following her death.
Robertson has a criminal history, and both he and Humphrey are considered armed and risky, authorities say; the pair is believed to have left California. Authorities struggled to identify her initially but unique tattoos on her body, which also spelled the names of her children, helped cops positive identify the victim. He should be considered armed and unsafe and the public is advised to not approach the suspects if they are spotted but to notify law enforcement.
Mendoza said investigators know of no ongoing conflict between the sisters.
What the police believe is even more troubling about the episode is the fact that the victim as well the two suspects are all known to have been involved in meth, potentially putting the children of the slain mother at even greater risk.
They are believed to be driving the victim’s silver 1999 Ford Expedition, and may bear CA license plate #7BEK024, or paper plates.
