‘Halo 5: Guardians’ Update: Advanced Controller Settings to be Added [Release
The game’s upcoming update will feature advanced controller settings, which will provide players the opportunity to adjust their Look Acceleration, Inner, and Outer Dead Zones, Halo announced. Highlighted towards the end of a three hour livestream, the downloadable content set to be available in January for Xbox One owner’s of Halo 5 will focus on aesthetics in multiplayer.
343 Industries has announced a new loyalty program and advanced controller settings for “Halo 5: Guardians”. Rather than simply adjusting you X and Y axis look sensitivity, players will soon be able to adjust additional setting to make sure their aim is as precise as possible.
Microsoft released Halo 5: Guardians’ first free content update, Battle of Shadow and Light, last month, and this week, the next update, Cartographer’s Gift, will be released, which will bring Forge Mode, new weapons, and more.
Look acceleration affects how long it takes to hit max look speed while holding the analog stick all the way in one direction.
Drifting is caused by the “wear and tear” of the analog stick of the controller. “Inner Dead Zone is used to prevent drift (camera movement when you aren’t applying any input to the look stick). If you do get drift, increase the inner dead zone setting a bit and try again”, Halo recommended on their page. “Outer Dead Zone is used to prevent slow turn (when you are applying 100% input on the look stick but not reaching top look speed)”. 343 Industries offers a tantalizing reward to players who sign in daily: free REQ packs.
343 Studios’ December DLC package, Cartographer’s Gift, is free for all owners of the game. Up to two REQ packs every day can be earned by the players just by playing the multiplayer modes Arena and Warzone. Note that the majority of cases we found where people were encountering slow turn were somewhat hard to discover as the problem tended to be inconsistent and were offering happening only when clenching, torqueing, or rotating the analog stick around the edges a tad.
