Handcuffed Man Dies, Crashes Through Window Of Atlanta Building
This admission was a violation of his bond; officers took him into custody. Atlanta police and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office Department of Internal Affairs are investigating the incident.
A loaded handgun was recovered from the scene, police said, which was wrapped in documents baring Richardson’s name.
A man has died after allegedly jumping out of a third-storey window to avoid being arrested.
Spokeswoman Tiffany Russell says the man reported Tuesday (local time) to a pretrial services programme at the local court when authorities found he had a gun.
Fulton County Sheriff’s spokeswoman Tracy Flanagan said the man jumped from the window after he had been handcuffed and seated. He later died of his injuries at Grady Memorial Hospital.The Atlanta Police Department and Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office will handle the investigation into his death. A hole could be seen in window glass where he exited the building.
Russell said she didn’t immediately have information about the man’s case or why he was at the pretrial services office.
The man then got up and dove headfirst through a window, falling three stories.
County jail records show Richardson had been arrested on drug charges and was arrested in 2013 on aggravated assault and battery charges.
While awaiting a pre-trial intervention hearing, an as of yet unidentified drug suspect killed himself in police custody in Atlanta.
