“This Pi Day we are encouraging Kalamazooans to think outside the box by creating their own pizza just the way they like it, for just $3.14”. Just grab your calculator, and head for your favorite diner or pizza shop for a slice, and eat away while you math away.

Every year, Pi Day is celebrated on March 14 around the world.

Katie Kimpel, a students who works at Frontier Pies, said March 14 is definitely one of their busiest days, rivaling the amount of sales on Thanksgiving day.

Happy global Pi Day! Why pie? Well, not only is 3.14 called pi, but when viewed in a mirror it literally spells “pie”.

– Boston Market: Free chicken pot pie with any individual meal and drink purchase.

The Grand Traverse Pie Company in MI, which will dish out a free slice of pie with any purchase, hosts a Pi Day video contest.

The parade ends at the “pi shrine” – a pi symbol with digits spiraling around it embedded in the sidewalk, which was unveiled previous year.

The Downtown Seattle Association is one of the sponsors for a Pi Day pie-eating contest, set to start at noon at Occidental Square.

Urban Bricks Pizza Co.: This fast-casual chain’s 24 locations in Texas and Florida are offering $3.14 pizzas on Tuesday.

Hungry Howies: According to GoBankingRates, those who buy Howie Bread can a medium, one-topping pizza for $3.14.

Whole Foods also has specials for Pi Day.

Papa John’s: Shoppers can purchase a large two-topping pizza or pan pizza for $9.99.

Known for their slogan, “The Best Pies in America”, Village Inn is offering a $2 discount on pies Monday and Tuesday at participating locations. It’s become tradition on this day for restaurants and supermarkets to offer pizzas and other kinds of pies for $3.14 apiece. This offer is available at all locations for dine-in and take-out.
