Harry Kane has ‘no doubts’ over new Tottenham deal
A minute later, Harry Kane smashed the ball into the back of the net from the penalty spot. The latter two in particular have started the season on fire, partly because they are able to field their strongest squad each time.
Harry Kane has dismissed speculation surrounding his future by insisting he is happy at Tottenham and hopes to sign a new long-term deal at the club. “I owe my team-mates, my manager, my chairman and everyone at this football club for how I am playing now and how I played last season and how I played the season before that”. “That’s all I can say”.
“The weekend was good, a great victory for us to lift us and recover that feeling of winning games, I think it was very important”. I’m not panicking and I’m not demanding anything as I’ve read in the paper.
However, with time running out West Ham hit the self-destruct button.
It was Kane’s first 90 minutes since he missed 10 games with ankle ligament damage and before the match Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino offered no guarantees that Spurs’ talisman would be able to face Monaco and Chelsea, too.
Spurs have the best defensive record in England but, without Toby Alderweireld, will need to be at the top of their defensive game to keep the Monaco machine quiet.
Tottenham’s Victor Wanyama in action with West Ham United’s Simone Zaza. He brings a lot of positive energy, as we saw against Arsenal and West Ham. It takes a courageous manager to go and do it, ‘ Kane added.
“I’m sure he’s buzzing and we’re all very happy for him”. “It was emotional – the celebrations, how we celebrated the goal with Harry and how we celebrated the goal at the end”.
“That was a “thank-you” to him for everything he’s done for me”. We must do what we always try to do and that is put pressure on Monaco and get control of the game.
“It wasn’t the greatest performance from us but that’s what it’s about – you have to dig deep as a team, stay patient and eventually we got the two goals”.
Tottenham Hotspur are in Monaco today preparing for a super-important Champions League match tomorrow evening, but there are questions to be asked about which Spurs players will take the field tomorrow.
“It’s a game we must win and we must find the way how”, added the Argentine.
“For us, now it’s to start winning trophies and competitions – that’s the next step”.
