Hartford police search for woman missing for a week
The body of a young Hartford mother who has been missing for more than a week has been found in Bloomfield. Now police say they are extremely concerned for her safety.
“There’s indicators that lead our investigators and command staff all to believe that there is a probability that Tashauna’s here in the park”, Deputy Police Chief Brian Foley said.
The community members, many of them friends and acquaintances of Jackson’s mother, combed through the woods past the Tower Road entrance to the sprawling North End park after meeting about 9 a.m. Bloomfield police later said the body appeared to be the same race and age range as Jackson. “Right now I have a whole bunch of mixed emotions”, Finch said. “They really don’t want things to leak out”.
A candlelight vigil was held Monday evening near the site where Tashauna Jackson disappeared. “Her child needs her home”.
“She gets along with everybody and anybody”, Fitch said. Searches are now taking place in some secluded areas, like Keney Park, in hopes of finding answers. His vehicle was searched but right now police are not saying if that search found anything.
The Hartford Police Department called Jackson’s disappearance “very suspicious”, and the Hartford major crimes unit conducted a search.
Jackson, who has never before disappeared, was reported missing the next day. A missing persons case.
“This is about us being together and helping to find Tashauna”, Mayor Segarra said. “And that’s what we are preparing for”. However, detectives are concerned because it is out of character for Jackson not to be in regular contact with her family. “With that we also need to find and that’s what this effort is for today”.
“We have serious concerns”.
Last Tuesday night, Jackson climbed into the passenger side of a friend’s truck on Barbour Street and never came home. That man is being treated as a witness.
