Harvey Weinstein to Surrender in New York Sex-Crimes Case

The police Department of NY also thanked all those who spoke about the harassment Weinstein, courage and the desire to achieve justice. Weinstein’s attorney Benjamin Brafman stated in a news conference that they, “intend to move very quickly to dismiss these charges”.

“The charges will not be believed by 12 people, assuming we get 12 fair people who are not consumed by the movement that seems to have overtaken this case”, he said.

Scotland Yard have not named Weinstein, but confirmed officers from Met’s Child Abuse and Sexual Offences Command are investigating allegations of sexual assault under Operation Kaguyak. He was later released on a $1 million cash bond. He will have to wear an ankle monitor and stay away from his accusers.

The triple Oscar victor has since said she was “appalled” and had no idea about the “disgraceful” allegations.
