Harvick completely at ease in must-win situation at Phoenix
Sunday might be another matter, but for Kyle Busch, whether it’s Friday or Sunday is of no outcome.
But nothing else in the Ticket Galaxy 200 was at all ordinary. He won the Sprint Cup Series Rookie of the Year in 2009, before going on to win the Daytona 500 last year, as well as races at Charlotte, Kansas, and Talladega, and the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race this year.
Team owner Roger Penske has the unique opportunity to win both the IndyCar Series championship and NASCAR’s top championship in the year that Team Penske is celebrating its 50th anniversary in competition. Rosberg could have claimed his first F1 title by winning, but still leads the season overall standings with 367 points to 355 for Hamilton, so even if Hamilton wins the last race, Rosberg can claim the title by finishing second or third. He said he was proud of his team’s efforts all season long, which included some ups and downs but ultimately has produced four wins. “We performed well in this round, just not great and you needed to be great to advance”. He has finished the last two races at Phoenix in the fourth position.
But, after the race, Sadler’s auto was being inspected by NASCAR for an apparent loose lug nut on his vehicle.
Bowman, a native of Arizona, was also making his eighth start replacing Dale Earnhardt Jr. “I think we had a shot to win the race and that ruined our day, too”.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Kevin Harvick is favored heavily, as he is getting odds of +150 to win.
Were pumped about it, we really put all our eggs in one basket, and thats that Homestead vehicle, he said. “We’ll go to Homestead and see if we can’t defend”.
From the third spot, Busch had a strong run and dived to the inside of Bowman, who went low to block.
“You know, we dominated the end of that race and wound up losing it to rain”, he said. Chase Elliott and Joey Logano will start on the second row.
Logano is convinced that he and his team led by crew chief Todd Gordon have what it takes to prevail in the final four shootout next week at Homestead. “It’s clearly in the 2016 NASCAR Xfinity Series rule book”.
Check out a few winners and losers from Sunday’s race. Gaughan pounded the Turn 1 wall and retired in 35th place. “But, hey, we did what we had to do”, Sadler said. Wallace was mourning his grandmother, who died earlier this week, and had trouble controlling his emotions after. That was the most fun I have had all year. “That says a lot about the character of our race team and we just came up short this year”.
“I just can’t thank everybody at Hendrick Motorsports enough. We will go on to Homestead and let her ride again”.
