Has Cate Blanchett Been Confirmed As The Villain Of Thor: Ragnarok?
Speculations on Cate Blanchett playing a villain in the upcoming movie “Thor: Ragnarok” seem to be swirling around as her co-star in the movie, actor Mark Ruffalo, dished out on her character in the third instalment of Thor franchise. One incident was when she appeared in “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” and host Jimmy Kimmel asked if she will be in it. The actress coyly said yes, but jokingly added that her role will be of Thor, since fellow Australian actor, Chris Hemsworth is busy. Of course, the question on everyone’s mind now is who exactly Blanchett will be playing. Of the Thor female villains, the most prominent are Amora the Enchantress and Hela.
The mother-of-four has continued from strength to strength, scoring a best actress nomination at the Golden Globes for her role in Carol. Although if I were to make an educated guess, Blanchett is pretty fit to play a queen. Ruffalo’s Bruce Banner/Hulk will be joining Thor on his journey back to outer space as Marvel CEO, Kevin Feige, confirmed that there is little Earth in the movie. She said, “I would love that…” She would be an interesting direction for Marvel to take the character, and again, would allow for a high level of crossover.
While Mark Ruffalo may have leaked some movie secret, nothing is certain yet. Hopefully she does, in which case we’ll see her battling all kinds of Norse gods when Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3, 2017. “The other thing that’s unbelievable about the movie is that it’s really a celebration of journalism and the power of it. I think it reawakens us”.
Not to be confused with DC Entertainment’s own demonic Enchantress (who will be appearing in August’s Suicide Squad), the Enchantress of Marvel was created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby in April 1964 for Journey into Mystery #103.
