Hassan to sign bill banning synthetic drugs
In a statement, Gov. Maggie Hassan, D-Exeter, explained that she approved the bill because it would “build on those efforts and help us save lives by encouraging people to seek emergency medical assistance for themselves or others without fearing prosecution for possession”, adding that legislators from both parties narrowed the scope of the bill to address the concerns of law enforcement agencies and the NH AG.
Fairfax, VA -(AmmoLand.com)- The National Rifle Association’s Institute for Legislative Action (NRA-ILA) today criticized New Hampshire Governor Maggie Hassan for vetoing legislation that would have protected the Second Amendment rights of New Hampshire’s law abiding gun owners.
I support the Second Amendment and I believe that Americans have a right to responsibly own guns for personal safety, hunting, and recreation.
Hassan, meanwhile, is using the veto as a way to raise cash.
Back in April, Hassan said she would not sign the legislation if it came to her desk after receiving postcards from Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, which opposed the bill. “However, I also recognize the need to balance the rights of gun owners with the rights of all New Hampshire citizens to be safe in their communities”.
Republican House Majority Leader Jack Flanagan said the license requirement impedes the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens. A Facebook page advertising the event encourages participants to peacefully exercise their rights to carry guns openly and concealed, if they have a license.
“Governor Hassan’s veto sends a clear message that she is listening to billionaire gun-control activist Michael Bloomberg over New Hampshire voters,” continued Chris Cox.
Anyone who can legally possess a gun in New Hampshire is allowed to carry it openly, but carrying the gun concealed requires a license from local officials. “On behalf of the NRA’s five-million members, I am disappointed Governor Hassan has chosen to disrespect the constitutional rights of her constituents.”
In the three states that have had similar permitless carry laws on the books for a measurable amount of time, murder rates have gone down; declining by 23 percent in Alaska, 16 percent in Arizona, and eight percent in Wyoming. Reactions to synthetic drugs such as Spice can be unpredictable.
“This week I vetoed a radical right-wing bill that would allow anyone to carry a hidden gun without a license”, the email says.
Moms Demand Action, part of ex- New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s Everytown for Gun Safety umbrella group, hailed Hassan’s veto as a solid win in the war on gun violence.
Hassan is revealing herself as a leftist who opposes the constitution. Now she’s also a Bloomberg shill.
