“Hatchimals” toy is having issues working
“We’ve been trying to get our hatchimal to hatch for two hours and it won’t do anything”, tweeted Cara Nan. A Spin Master post that apologizes for “challenges with your Hatchimals” has become a clearinghouse for families claiming their Hatchimals were bad eggs.
Not to mention the fact that across North America, the $60 toy sold out instantly, leaving many a child feeling un-loved by ol’ Santy Claus. “We don’t have many people coming in with the problem, but the people who are coming in are mad”. NBC called Hatchimals a “lame duck” gift after many parents reported that Hatchimals left their kids heartbroken because they simply didn’t do what they should.
That puts toy makers in an awkward “damned if you do, damned if you don’t” position, Beemer added. “The customer service line doesn’t even ring anymore!”
“We can assure consumers that Hatchimals do not curse, nor do they use foul language”.
Mattel and Spin Master did not respond to requests for comment.
Calling a Hatchimal popular is an understatement.
If you don’t know what a Hatchimal is, they’re basically creatures in eggs that hatch when kids pay enough attention to them.
“I don’t expect everyone to hear it as clearly as I do”, Sarah Galego said said in a YouTube video uploaded Wednesday. These are actually toys that have to be hatched from an egg, hence the name.
Some took to social media to express their frustration.
Her son says the unique toy is one thing he really wanted for Christmas. The toy industry has been hit in years past with massive recalls of products that contain lead.
The company has not said if replacements or refunds were being offered. Some consumers said that the toys’ batteries are dying too quickly.
