So why the sudden clock controversy?
Fast-forward 100 years, and time change actually cost us in electricity, not to mention the annoyance of having to change all the clocks around the house and vehicles twice a year.

Daylight Saving Time was originally introduced for economic reasons as more daylight meant more time to get more work done, without wasting too much energy.
“At our home, I don’t see any savings”. While most, if not all, Texans probably wouldn’t mind foregoing the bi-annual adjustment of every household clock, many prefer the extra sunlight that DST affords. In 2007, the federal government expanded Daylight Saving Time, according to the National Institute of Standards and Technology, in order to reduce energy consumption.
But just seven months later, the seasonal time change was repealed, but some cities, including Pittsburgh, Boston, and NY, continued to use it until President Franklin D. Roosevelt instituted year-round DST in the United States in 1942 called “War Time”. Adjust your schedule a bit to spend seven hours in bed during the 23-hour day.
