Have I Got News For You: All the best Jeremy Clarkson jokes
“Unlike you I’ve never been done for it before”, he quipped to Private Eye editor Ian Hislop.
Former Top Gear host Jeremy Clarkson has been pictured taking a break outside London Studios, where he will be making his BBC return, filming Have I Got News For You.
After guest Camilla Long said: “Go on Jeremy, punch him” following an Osman joke, team captain Paul Merton did a rather good impression of the fight with producer Oisin Tymon, all while Jeremy grimaced alongside them.
The 55-year-old has revealed he is struggling to find a base in the capital for his new Amazon show with Richard Hammond and James May despite their “cheque book”.
The new series of Have I Got News For You is on Fridays at 9pm on BBC 1.
Clarkson was forced to pull out of the last series as the furore continued, and it was still the butt of many a joke as he hosted the opening episode of HIGNFY’s 50th series.
During a sound problem during filming, Osman told him: “This wouldn’t happen on Amazon Prime”.
Clarkson on whether he regrets Fracas-gate: “Yes… apart from the pay rise”.
As anticipated, it’s Ian Hislop who is most cutting of all.
Clarkson replied: “I am not allowed on the BBC to use the C-word”.
“What are they gonna do, f***ing sack me?” ” As mentioned, the Amazon is also on the topic list, as Hislop goes “I thought you’d be delivering packages to my door”.
They will be joined tonight by guest panellists Richard Osman and Camilla Long. Here are a few classic moments from his former appearances on the show.
Hislop on Corbyn and Clarkson: “Old blokes called Jeremy with extreme views…”
Clarkson on Clarkson: “It’s nice to be back”.
Clarkson was suspended by the broadcaster on March 10 after punching Mr Tymon during a row over a steak dinner, before the BBC announced his contract would not be renewed.
