Haye ‘to pull out of Bellew clash’ after suffering training injury
If Haye struggles in the contest, with a huge underdog moving up in weight, then Froch is not confident that Haye will be able to secure the big money fights he wants most at heavyweight.
“Because he is facing little old fat Tony Bellew I think he thinks he will walk through me and have an easy night”.
“He’s definitely got a lot of stuff in his favour”.
“I can navigate round all of his advantages”.
“When he comes back to Liverpool afterwards, just make sure you guys are there for him because he’s going to need all of your help, believe me”. Haye has already indicated his intention to face Joshua in the past, and fanned the flames between the two domestic heavyweight rivals by claiming he would’ve beaten Joshua in his first fight after returning from retirement. I’m hoping him and “Penfold” have worked on a good strategy to try to give me something to worry about. In the time I’ve been out, he’s had 12 or 13 fights.
“You have to move forward and that’s what I’m doing”.
But Hearn, who is Bellew’s promoter, is adamant that Haye will not pull out of the fight and played down the severity of his supposed latest injury issue. If he loses to Bellew, it is the end of him.
Haye is said to have went to Munich with a friend on Tuesday, and is due back on Wednesday afternoon.
He also insisted he has no intention of apologising for calling sections of the fans present at Monday’s press conference in Liverpool “f****** r–s”.
These sort of terms are the equivalent of racism and sexism and I don’t care what anybody says, it’s exactly the same.
“Bellew has got my fire burning”. But it was a bunch of idiots, and I didn’t enjoy that side of it.
I wouldn’t harp on Bellew’s past career if I was Booth. He takes too much punishment and is not that tough.
He said: “They are morons”.
