HBO to stream Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black comedies on Facebook | Tech
The Brink’s debut episode can be seen on Facebook.
Using Facebook “expands HBO programming sampling efforts to a new platform”, the company said.
HBO is streaming two of its new shows on Facebook.
You’ll be able to watch the first episode of “Ballers,” a new show starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, on Facebook page from Wednesday, CNBC reports, which has 49 million Facebook fans.
Ballers and The Brink continue on HBO on Sunday (June 28).
Ballers is an Entourage-like sports comedy starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.
The partnership, which comes on the heels of the network’s over-the-top streaming service launched in April, also promotes the cord-cutting HBO Now. After that, the rest of the two series will be available on HBO GO and HBO NOW.
Dark comedy “The Brink” focuses on the effects of a geopolitical crisis on three disparate (and desperate) men: Secretary of State Walter Larson (Tim Robbins), Foreign Service officer Alex Talbot (Jack Black) and ace Navy fighter pilot Zeke Tilson (Pablo Schreiber). Previously the network has released premieres for Girls and The Newsroom on YouTube and, in the case of The Leftovers, Yahoo Screen.
According to Variety, citing Nielsen ratings, True Detective drew over 3 million viewers, the strongest performance of the series with the exception of last year’s finale and more than a million more viewers than the first season premiere.
