Hearthstone New Ranked Rewards Mechanics
As part of its Gamescom 2015 presentation, Blizzard today revealed, well, Reveal, another new Hearthstone mechanic which will be introduced in the upcoming Grand Tournament expansion.
Blizzard says that the new mechanic is called “Reveal” and what it does is allow players to take a sneak peek at the next card in their opponent’s deck. To win, the player who initiated the Joust must reveal a minion with a higher mana cost than their opponent. When getting to a particularly high rank, players often stop playing because they don’t want to risk losing a rank. And players will be awarded when they reach a certain rank. Eligible players will receive a treasure chest at the end of each season containing the season’s Ranked Play card back, one or more golden cards, and some Arcane Dust.
You’ll be able to view your current rank chest from your Quest log. The rewards start at rank 20 and will improve as you climb the competitive ladder. The player that draws the highest value card is rewarded with the joust boost.
The gallery below gives you a look at the new cards coming with the Hearthstone expansion. For example the new legendary card, The Skeleton Knight, has a deathrattle that triggers a joust and if successful, adds the legendary card back in to your hand. As well as announcing dozens of new cards, some cool new features for the game have just been announced at this year’s Gamescom. Hearthstone – Master Jouster If the gamble pays off at the joust, taunt and divine shield for 6 mana would be nice. Great for baiting Big Game Hunter.
