Heartless Thugs Attack Elderly Woman In Church, Knocking Her To The Ground

Police said Wednesday they have arrested a suspect after a 76-year-old woman was robbed and punched in the face inside an Omaha church.

It wasn’t immediately known whether he has an attorney to comment on the allegations; online court records don’t yet list the case. The other slugged on the side of the head, knocking her down.

The woman is said to be from Johnson, Iowa, and she was reading a copy of that morning’s church bulletin when she was attacked.

The woman, who has not been named but is from Johnston, Iowa, was taken to hospital for her injuries but is now doing fine. “She is grateful for all of your prayers, and her hope is that you will pray for her attackers”, the church wrote. She has been released.

Video of the attack on a 72-year-old woman sparked outrage locally, and across the country as surveillance video of the attack went viral.

In the video a woman, who media and police have chosen not to identify, is seen looking at a brochure in the Cathederal’s front foyer when she is blindsided by two men.

Netusil said security cameras have been installed throughout the church and on campus for at least 10 years and the “system is exceptionally thorough”.
