Heat advisories stretch from northern Alabama to Gulf Coast
Heat will continue to be a concern through the week, with more potential heat advisories, but scattered afternoon thunderstorms are possible each day.

If high temperatures reach 90 degrees Tuesday, it’ll be official – we’re in a heat wave.
Brace for another scorcher in New Jersey on Monday.
An air quality alert also was issued for all three counties. It all boils down to potentially dangerous heat again today: please take care of yourself and each other, and consider amending your daily activities to accommodate the very hot weather. “We do this all again on Tuesday… possibly setting the stage for a heat wave”.
Sunday’s heat was so stifling that a few events, such as the Delaware Shakespeare Festival’s production of “The Taming of the Shrew”, delayed until temperatures dropped. Some will be cooled off by those storms, but most of us should stay rain-free today. Not everyone will get rain here, but I could see a strong thunderstorm or two popping up in the warm, humid air.
The Weather Service warns that children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles during hot weather when the vehicle’s interior can reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.’.
The last seven days have brought high temperatures in the mid to upper 90s to South Mississippi. That will be a big difference!
