Cooler temperatures, cloudy skies and a chance for rain remain in the forecast well into next week.
So far, August has had high temperatures of 89, 89 and 90 degrees.
Temperatures should be slightly higher than average at 94 degrees, with a 30 percent chance of thunderstorms this afternoon, according to the National Weather Service in Melbourne. During times of extreme heat and high humidity, heat disorders are likely and can even be life-threatening.
