Heat, Disabled Trains Cause Hours Long Delays on NJ Transit
Delays on NJ Transit trains have eased after Amtrak power problems stalled commuters Monday amid dangerously hot temperatures.
Signal issues and more wire problems for NJ Transit led to this morning’s 60-minute delays on the Northeast Corridor. PATH trains are cross-honoring tickets in Hoboken, Newark Penn and at New York 33rd Street. N.J. Two trains became disabled during the evening rush with one of the trains stuck in one of the Hudson River Tunnels.
Trains on the Northeast Corridor and North Jersey Coast lines started running with 60- to 90-minute delays shortly before 7 a.m., NJ Transit said.
NJ Transit bus and private carriers were honoring rail tickets and passes out of the Port Authority Bus Terminal.
It’s unknown when service will return to normal.
