Heat Fall to Bulls in Wade’s Return to Miami
“What a game. I am glad it is over”. “I’m glad it’s over”. LeBron and Chris Bosh went to Miami because of Wade.
But most importantly, he helped lead the Heat to the only three National Basketball Association titles in franchise history. Butler after a quiet night then made a pair of jumpers on isolation play to give the Bulls an 88-83 lead with three minutes remaining. Maybe just an official statement from Wade to something everyone knew: The Heat had different priorities.
“I haven’t spoken to him since I got in the building”, Wade said.
“And, when s- happens, you gotta be prepared to [move on]”. “It’s good that he takes notes”, Wade said. Animosity with Heat president Pat Riley lingers from the breakdown in offseason negotiations that led to Wade returning to his hometown of Chicago.
G Dwyane Wade scored 25 points in Wednesday’s loss at Atlanta Wade made his first seven shots from the floor and finished 10 of 17. “You’re looking a three-month old baby, and realizing she’s never going to know her mother, all these things, it really becomes real”. With this usage, Wade makes for a great fantasy asset.
Don’t worry. Here’s how the Heat’s tribute video for Wade looked from inside AmericanAirlines Arena.
No such agreement came last summer, and Wade left.
Hassan Whiteside stood tallest, but also without a closer.
On the same night, though, Kevin Durant saw his impressive scoring streak of putting up at least 20 points in regular-season games snapped at 72 after the forward finished with 18 points. So Wade ended up signing a two-year, $31 million deal with an opt-out clause.
Riley didn’t want to end up giving Wade a Kobe Bryant-like contract that would cripple the team’s salary cap. “It’s as simple as that”, Wade said of Riley.
The Bulls as a whole may not have much at stake (minus winning or losing another game on the docket) but for Wade, this will be so much more than a game.
Because this time Dwyane Wade wasn’t alongside but rather on the other side.
Neither team led by double figures, with the largest lead being eight by the Heat in the first quarter.
After a 3-pointer from Richardson drew the Heat within 90-87 with 1:36 to play, Winslow then attacked the rim for a driving layup that closed the gap to 90-89 with 70 seconds to play. The trip wasn’t even going to last 24 hours, barely long enough to go see the house he still owns and spend a tiny bit of time in the city he still adores.
It was Wade’s first time facing the Heat as an opponent, and afterward he seemed more than a little relieved that this was over.
Only this time, Wade would be doing it wearing a bright red Bulls jersey, and was headed back to the visiting locker room.
