Heat, humidity moves into Chicago area
Temperatures are expected to reach the low 90s on Saturday, with high humidity levels pushing the heat index up to the 100- to 104-degree range. All Connecticut will experience heat indices well into the 90s to near 100; so take it easy tomorrow and enjoy the day by the beach, lake or pool. In the next few days, daily maximum temperatures will surge to around 38-39 °C, the National Weather Service said. The last thing you want to do is engage in strenuous activity since your body will already be under so much stress from the heat.
Expect it soon – the National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory in effect Sunday from noon-6 p.m.
A Heat Advisory has already been issued for Saturday afternoon for parts of central and northern Oklahoma, it does include Oklahoma City. It’s a warm and soupy night, with fog and haze developing late.
Afternoon highs could hit 101 degrees, sending the heat index as high as 110 degrees in southwest Alabama and 112 degrees in southeast Alabama. The advisory expires Sunday evening.
There’s no big cooldown in sight either, as Wednesday through Saturday look to bring high temperatures at least in the upper 80s. Isolated showers and storms will develop during the evening hours in the vicinity of a slow moving cold front.
It will be a hot and sticky day with highs in the low 90s.
Friday: Partly sunny with a chance of storms later.
This is also a time for people to check on their relatives and neighbors to make sure they have a way to get relief from the heat.
