People who work or exercise in the heat are also at a higher risk, as are those who are “socially isolated”, homeless, who can not care of themselves and others without access to air conditioning.

“A hot and humid air mass from the Gulf of Mexico will affect most of southern Ontario from Tuesday through Thursday”, Environment Canada said in its statement Sunday. “But as soon as that rain ends, the humidity should come back with a vengeance, and make it feel even more uncomfortable”.
“The risk of exposure to these temperatures and humidex may result in heat rash, heat cramps, heat exhaustion, or heat stroke”, the regional agency warns in a news release.
