Extended Heat Warnings remain in effect while the weather remains at 29 degrees Celsius or above during the day and 18 degrees Celsius or above at night or the humidex reaches 36 or above.
Another heat warning has been issued for much of southern Ontario including Sarnia-Lambton.
Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued heat alerts for all of southern Ontario. On Thursday, the daytime high will rise to around 30 C, although humidity levels will be significantly lower, Environment Canada said.
In high temperatures and humidity, your body may not be able to cool properly which can lead to heat-related illnesses such as: heat rash, heat cramps, heat exhaustion, or heat stroke. A headache, rapid breathing and heartbeat, extreme thirst, and decreased urination are also signs someone might be suffering.
There is a 40 per cent chance of showers on Sunday.
Oxford-Brant will see similar conditions, while temperatures may be a degree cooler in Huron-Perth and up to two degrees cooler in Grey-Bruce. Call 911 or your local emergency number immediately if you are caring for someone who has a high body temperature, is unconscious, confused, or has stopped sweating.
Everyone is encouraged to frequently visit neighbours, friends and older family members, especially those who are chronically ill, to ensure they are safe.
Some tips to keep cool and healthy include drinking plenty of liquids especially water before you feel thirsty to decrease your risk of dehydration.
People are also reminded not to leave children or pets in hot cars.
