Helen Mirren gets reprimanded by ‘Good Morning Britain’ co-hosts for cursing
Helen Mirren has enjoyed a long and successful career in Hollywood and she is showing no signs of slowing down any time soon, with plenty more projects coming our way over the course of the coming years.
We’re a little confused how “pissed” is a curse word on Good Morning Britain, but coming from a classy lady like Mirren, it’s kind of shocking and hilarious.
At first, Dame Helen said sorry but then asked: “Why can’t you say that?”
Awkward: Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway were left shocked by the profanity After telling Garraway that she was “rather rude” following her look of surprise on finding out that the actress likes camping, Mirren said: “I love camping, and I still do”. Mirren dated the actor, now 63, in the 1980s and became animated as she recalled the trip with her then-love. My husband (Taylor Hackford) unfortunately doesn’t want to camp.
“I went camping with an ex-boyfriend of mine, Liam Neeson”. We had this little Deux Chevaux vehicle – Liam 6ft 4in, his head was like sticking out the top of the auto really. “We’ll get fired. You might be the Queen, but you can’t save us”.
Chatting with the hosts, the star was relaying an anecdote about taking a camping trip with Liam Neeson, describing how it “pissed with rain non-stop”.
“I just take it as part and parcel of my job and it is”, she continued.
She told them her age was “boring”.
The 70-year-old remained unflappable though and simply asked: “Why can’t you can’t say that?”
But the hosts apparently didn’t register her irritation and pushed on with the questions about her age, which she told them were “boring”. “No, I don’t understand your fascination with it”, she said. “Sometimes I put my foot in my mouth and I get into trouble and sometimes I don’t, but I refuse to sort of be afraid of it”.
The British actress, who has received numerous awards for her many film roles, has admitted that she was once so drunk at the Golden Globes, that she got confused with which award she was accepting.
“I don’t have a motto for life, I really don’t except I’m getting less and less rule bound”.
“All we do is we get more knowledge about them”.
