‘Hell No’ Clinton Won’t Apologize to Trump for ISIS Remark: Spokesman
We need to make sure, Clinton said at the debate, that Trump’s more hateful rhetoric doesn’t “fall in receptive ears” overseas.
“Hillary Clinton suggesting that Donald Trump is being used in an ISIS recruiting video, man, talk about chutzpah”, Bush said Monday on Bill Bennett’s radio show, as highlighted by BuzzFeed News.
Earlier Monday, Trump demanded that Clinton apologize to him for her comment.
But it appears that the claim about videos specifically can’t be verified.
Clinton communications director Jennifer Palmieri went on ABC’s “This Week” to respond to the scepticism over Clinton’s statement. CNN’s Reality Check Team also found there was nothing to support Clinton’s claim of an ISIS video showing Trump.
Asked on Meet the Press on Sunday whether or not he would change his language if his words were being used in ISIS recruitment videos, Trump offered a firm no. The Democratic presidential front-runner asserted in that the United States is heading in the right direction with its strategy, whilst the world is on high alert after multiple ISIS-linked terror assaults hit Western countries in current months.
One tweet from an ISIS supporter said: “Why are people shocked with Trump he only said what most kufar [disbelievers] are afraid of saying”.
Pundits debated the claim all weekend, and several fact-checkers ruled that there’s no evidence to back up Clinton’s claim about the terrorist group.
Clinton could have worded this better, but her underlying point is sound: Trump is providing rhetorical ammunition to America’s enemies.
“I thought she quit, I thought she gave up”, Trump joked.
Clinton’s total campaign funds still haven’t reached what Bush’s super PAC is spending on its own, let alone the additional $25 million his campaign committee has raised for a total of $128 million he’s raised so far for battle ahead of the 2016 election.
