Henderson: No fear over Stoke trip
Spinning the situation positively, Henderson said: “There couldn’t be a better place for us to start and put what happened there last season to bed once and for all”.
The Telegraph claims that Brendan Rodgers has been impressed by the teenager and will allow him to start away at Stoke on the opening day of the new season.
Reds’ new skipper Henderson, however, is keen to return to Stoke and make up for the mistakes last time out.
The 24 year-old has 42 goals in 89 Premier League games suggesting he could make a real impact should he click in Rodgers’ side.
“We have been performing well during preseason and have got great quality in the team”. Despite a few calls for his exit following the disappointing end to last season, the club’s owners have yet again backed their manager’s lavish spending spree.
‘We have a determination to do better and to improve as a team. “They are a good team but so are we”.
Joe Gomez is likely to start at left-back for Liverpool in their opening Premier League game at Stoke City on Sunday, according to reports on Monday night.
