Henry leads in Reno

Lowry locked up victory in the World Golf Championship event with a shot through the trees from left of the 18th fairway that descended over a bunker and settled just over 10 feet away for one final birdie and a 4-under 66.

Henry, who won in 2012 in the first instance Modified Stableford scoring was used at the PGA Tour event in Nevada, missed an eagle putt on his 72nd hole of the week for an outright win, but made amends on the second play-off hole.

It was the fourth playoff in Barracuda Championship history and the first in over a decade in the unique tournament which features a Modified Stableford scoring system assigning point values to shots rather than registering a score relative to par.

“I just love being here”, he said on the official PGA Tour website.

“Obviously, starting on the Web and getting a win under my belt gave me a lot of confidence and freed me up to take advantage of some opportunities out on tour”, Rodgers said.

“I kept it in play and obviously I putted really well, which was the key”.

“I was about in to type of jot from the 12 months a year ago about this particular time”, Ogilvy said.

“When you make a lot of birdies like I did today it makes it even more fun”. Double eagles are worth eight points, eagles five points, birdies two points, pars no points, bogeys minus-one point and double bogeys or worse minus-three points.

Lowry had a one-shot lead when Furyk made his second bogey on the front nine, but the 28-year-old Irishman appeared to be in trouble with a wild hook off the 10th tee.

“I had last week off, which was nice”, Sucher said.
