Some people are reporting problems checking a box while pre-ordering the Oculus Rift to indicate that they wanted to reserve a Touch. While some may have prepared their bank accounts for the purchase already, Oculus won’t actually be charging for Rift pre-orders until the final release day comes along, which means those who pre-order aren’t “locked in”. If you don’t have one, Oculus can help you out – for another thousand dollars. A year ago in November, Samsung Gear VR was also introduced and works with select Samsung smartphones.
Everyone who qualifies in that category is going to get a special “Kickstarter Edition” of the virtual reality device for free! That’s in line with the price range for a headset and PC that Oculus executives had floated past year.
Pre-orders for the Oculus Rift will begin at precisely 8am PST (4pm GMT) on Wednesday 6th January 2016.

Everyone who backed the campaign in a large enough quantity to receive that Oculus DK1, that would be $275 or more, will receive an Oculus Rift for free.
