Here’s how you can win free Chick-fil-A for a year
New Yorkers who are willing to courageous Hurricane Joaquin (it’s supposed to rain) on Saturday have the chance of receiving the best gift ever from Chick-fil-A. The Times takes a look at how the company operates and how it’s preparing for the New York opening.
The First 100 Campout will give 100 people the opportunity to win free Chick-fil-A for a year (52 meals), according to a release.
Chick-fil-A said the company plans to open several restaurants in Manhattan and the surrounding boroughs over the next two years, including a second Manhattan location at West 46th and 6th Avenue in early 2016. Edelman also represented Chick-fil-A in its relocation to Boardman-Poland Road in Boardman, Ohio. When it opens, the NYC location will be the largest in the county. Instead the Chick-fil-A located at 37th and 6th is promising expedited service via employees with iPads, allowing them to have people’s meal ready by the time they reach the counter. The actual rules are a bit more complicated: Those lucky 100 will actually be selected, via lottery, from the first 300 people that set up to camp out the night before.
The first 100 participants will be given a camping chair and blanket for the overnight event. In 2013, Chick-fil-A President Dan Cathy tweeted, and quickly deleted, a message that criticized a Supreme Court ruling that found same-sex couples were entitled to federal benefits. The Chick-Fil-A website has a complete listing of eligible zip codes.
