Here’s the Story: America’s Mom, Florence Henderson, Dies at 82
She was one of America’s moms, a television mother many people grew up watching. She was in the audience earlier in the season to support her “Brady” co-star Maureen McCormick.
“We thank her for her friendship and love for our sport and her friends and family will be in our prayers”, he said.
“It’s like a gift she gave me, in a way”, he said. She hosted numerous daytime talk and cooking shows, co-anchored the short-lived “Today” show spin-off “Later Today” and competed on “Dancing with the Stars” in 2010. She kept acting in prime time, with appearances on everything from “Hart to Hart” to “Ally McBeal”. According to the sources, she was the most favorite television mom character among others.
She and Reed did return, however, for “The Brady Bunch Hour, “The Brady Brides” and “The Bradys”.
And Florence still had a lot ahead of her.
She took me to NY for Christmases with her family.
“She took what she did very, very seriously”, Williams said Friday.
“Florence was the most vibrant and caring woman I have ever known”, Pressman said. “She was just 100% fun and professional”. In a career spanning more than six decades, she welcomed all the love it brought her – as she said in a 2009 interview with ABC7’s entertainment guru, George Pennacchio. I feel so fortunate that I got to spend that time with her.
She’ll be remembered as a real class act – someone with so much talent.
The sitcom star revealed that about eight years ago she ended up in the emergency room, and she had heart surgery to fix a valve in her heart.
Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II were so impressed they made her the female lead in a 1952 road tour of Oklahoma!. She had a strict Roman Catholic with some ethical values and serves the global film world with her fantastic massive contribution. She spoke of the late actress as a “wonderful mother” both in and out of the Brady Bunch. At the utmost, this loss is major for her family and for her fans also.
“I grieve for the passing of my dear friend, Florence”.
