Here’s What Martha Stewart Has to Say About Blake Lively Shuttering Preserve
For those who don’t know, Stewart’s comments are particularly poignant not only because she’s the unofficial queen of lifestyle, but also because she threw MAJOR SHADE at Lively’s new venture when it first materialized.
While at New York’s 17th Annual Hudson River Park Gala, Stewart told Us Weekly, “I’m sorry! Maybe you can’t do everything at the same time”. She’s how I came to know and love Martha.
A few days after the shut down, a message that popped up on the Preserve Instagram that read, “Thank you for sharing your stories and Preserving with us”.
“Listen, she’s a movie actress”, Stewart continued, expertly embedding a passive-aggressive put-down in the statement. “If she were confident in her acting, she wouldn’t be trying to be Martha Stewart“. The Age of Adaline actress made the announcement on September 30, revealing that she was already developing her next endeavor. “And that’s the whole reason I started this company, not just to fluff myself, like, ‘I’m a celebrity!” “It’s not making a difference in people’s lives, whether superficially or in a meaningful way…” (Now that’s the mark of a remarkable hostess.) Case in point: Blake Lively’s short-lived lifestyle site, Preserve, officially shuttered last week. I’m totally supportive, but you know what?
“She just needs to be quiet”, Stewart told Vanity Fair previous year regarding Gwyneth Paltrow and her brand Goop.
“We thought about buying [Kmart], but we didn’t do it, and we should have”, The Bedford resident said in an interview with The Associated Press. “She’s a movie star”.
Prior to Preserve shuttering, Lively, 28, gave several weeks of forewarning to its fans, even promoting 60 percent off final sale items.
