Hero to launch Splendor iSmart 110 on July 14
The new motorcycle is apparently the first product to be indigenously developed by Hero after its split with Honda. With the introduction of the new Splendor iSmart 110 in its portfolio, the company aims to further augment its undisputed leadership in the category.
The company today launched the new Splendor iSmart 110, the first motorcycle to be developed completely in-house, with the company’s own technology, priced at ₹53,300 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Being the second motorcycle from Hero MotoCorp to get i3S technology, the bike is expected to offer exceptional fuel efficiency as well.
The new styling language of bike extends to its enthusiastic “exhaust note” which is characteristic of a refined 4-stroke engine. The company will also offer an optional front disc brake. “I can proudly state that Hero MotoCorp possess a self-sufficient in-house capability to develop new products for our global customers”, PTI quoted Hero MotoCorp Chairman, Managing Director and CEO Pawan Munjal.
The Splendor iSmart 110 is built on an all-new frame, which is created to optimize rigidity, durability and agility. The iSmart system in the bike gives it a start/stop system that shuts the engine off when it idles and is immediately started once the rider engages the clutch. “The new iSmart 110 is another example of our efforts, featuring a NS IV-compliant engine along with the fuel-efficient i3S technology”, he added.
With fuel efficiency being the raison d’etre of commuter bikes in India, the Splendor iSmart 110 is claimed to offer best-in-class mileage as a result of the i3S system, which is also a convenience feature in urban stop-go traffic. Buyers can choose from four different colour scheme of Silver and Black, Red and Black, Blue and Black and Sports Red.
Hero Splendor iSmart 110 enters the competitive 2 wheeler segment where it will compete with the likes of TVS Victor 110, Yamaha Saluto RX and Honda Livo.
