Heroes Unite in the Last Fantastic Four Trailer
Jocelyn Noveck, The Associated Press: It’s not wholesale bad – just depressingly mediocre, and at a certain point you sort of start wishing it WERE definitively awful, because that would at least make it more entertaining or give it a certain odd raison d’etre.
One thing leads to another, however, and a trip to this other dimension becomes something the team just has to try for itself. I think the problem may lie in the fact most people attend these movies expecting a lot of excitement, and this movie is more focused on helping young people figure out how to cope in a world where they are different to the normal. Midway through this trainwreck, Reed Richards escapes from the military facility where the four are being studied. The good cast, however, failed to save the movie from sinking because of the weight of its half-baked story. It’s a blessing he was kicked off of Star Wars.
“The insane and sad part about it is that most films that I’m in, or that females are in, there’s mostly males in them, so there just aren’t enough roles for females in general”, she explained. “Rarely are films of this size critically well received”, he said.
Joining Kate and Jamie in the new movie are Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan, among others. After a good round of drinking, Reed, his old friend Ben (Jamie Bell), Johnny, and Victor teleport themselves. Years later, Dr. Franklin Storm (Reg E. Cathey) offers him admission to the Baxter Institute, where he can continue to develop his research.

This attempt by director and co-writer Josh Trank (“Chronicle”) has no youthful enthusiasm or sense of reinvention. Jordan discussed that very conversation in an interview with HuffPost Live Tuesday, saying he’s glad that he and his co-stars “took the high road” after Steven J. Rickman (aka Southside Steve) asked them to defend or explain how black and white characters could feasibly be related.
By the time they get swallowed up in the hard-to-follow, CGI-heavy climax, it’s clear the actors are as lost as we are. Y’know, things that make a movie fantastic.
