High 10 Panthers going to Pro Bowl
Yesterday, the 2016 Pro Bowl rosters were announced, and among the names included was that of former Syracuse defensive end Chandler Jones.
Peterson was the only member of the 9-5 Vikings to be selected to the Pro Bowl, which will be played on Sunday, Jan. 31, in Honolulu. Safety Devin McCourty (first-round, 2010), linebacker Donta Hightower (first-round, 2012) and wide receiver Julian Edelman (seventh-round, 2009) also had a case for Hawaii. This season, Olsen has recorded a career-high 1,048 receiving yards, marking his second consecutive 1,000-yard season. Kalil’s selection is the fifth of his career, tied for the most in Panthers history.
Brown has 116 receptions for 1,586 yards and nine touchdowns.
Robinson is tied for the league’s best 13 touchdown catches.
Berry’s latest Pro Bowl nod, his fourth, is the latest testament to his remarkable comeback from lymphoma, which he was diagnosed with last December and beat prior to training camp.
“It’s truly an honor to be selected to the Pro Bowl”, Davis said.
“To have 10 guys selected says a lot about our team”, Davis said. “I guess the fans and some (players) didn’t see it the same way we did”. “I thank them from the bottom of my heart”. Quarterback Cam Newton was picked Tuesday for the third time.
New England Patriots second-year cornerback Malcolm Butler was surprised when he learned he was selected for his first Pro Bowl. Cincinnati and Kansas City each had five players.
Seattle players chosen included defensive end Michael Bennett, linebacker Bobby Wagner, strong safety Kam Chancellor, free safety Earl Thomas, cornerback Richard Sherman and rookie return specialist Tyler Lockett. “So much of our success on offense is directly related to Doug’s achievements this season”.
“It’s a good milestone in a sense, more than anything, it’s just the fact it was voted on by other guys around the league”, Bailey said. They were thrilled he was still available while picking 24th. “It’s a tribute to their teammates and the organization to have the number selected today and the high alternates”.
Oakland Raiders safety Charles Woodson who is to retire at the end of the season, was selected to his ninth Pro Bowl.
Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton, for example, finished third overall in fan voting but didn’t get one of the six quarterback slots – which means that he fared poorly in the other two prongs of the process, coach voting and player voting.
