Highway 101 in Burlingame closed both directions until 5 pm
According to Jeff Smith from PG & E, Highway 101 is expected to not open until 5 p.m this afternoon.
One PG&E crew was on the scene as of 11 p.m. and additional personnel were en route, Guidi said. Crews with PG&E have been working on an electric tower damaged in the crash.

An 8-mile stretch of Interstate 101 in Burlingame was shut down Friday night after a crane operated by a Caltrans contractor struck a high-voltage tower.
“I can see never-ending cars ahead and at least 50 rows of vehicle behind, times five lanes”, she said.

There were reports of several motorists driving over live wires and others getting out of their cars. Traffic is being detoured off the highway at Anza Boulevard in the northbound direction and at Millbrae Avenue in the southbound direction, according to the CHP.
Drivers have been continuously advised to not to pass through that area and if someone is there, then avoid getting in touch with the power lines.
The incident may have been responsible for brief power outages from San Francisco down the Peninsula.
