Hilarious Starbucks Holiday Cup Redesigns Inspired by the Internet’s Red
Mayor Bill de Blasio sided with Starbucks – and against Donald Trump – Wednesday in the controversy over the coffee chain’s minimalist holiday cups. “I don’t remember Starbucks ever being a Christian company, do you?” the actress continued.
She explained on her talk show that people are claiming that Starbucks’ new drink containers are anti-Christmas. He also encouraged users to give their name as “Merry Christmas” while ordering to “trick” Starbucks baristas into saying the greeting. “I don’t know. Seriously, I don’t care”, Trump said at a campaign rally. He says, “I decided instead of simply boycotting, well why don’t we just start a movement”.
Does anyone really remember what take-out coffee cups were sporting for Christmas decor a year ago?
“If more companies in America were doing what Starbucks is doing, this would be a different discussion”, de Blasio said of his signature fight to close the gap between have and have-nots.
He added that Starbucks operates a highly successful store in one of his buildings, but noted that “that’s the end of that lease, but who cares?”
Dunkin’ Donuts introduced its Christmas-themed cup on Tuesday in the midst of the Starbucks cup controversy.
“If you want Christmas with your breakfast, you’re going to have to do it the old fashioned way: You have to get really, really high, and then you have to go to IHOP and just stare at your pancakes until you go, ‘I see baby Jesus in there'”.
“Over the past few years, our customers have been showcasing their work on Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest, and we even held a contest to support this creativity”.
“We’re embracing the simplicity and the quietness of it. It’s a more open way to usher in the holiday”, Jeffrey Fields, Starbucks vice president of design and content, said in a statement.
