Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders Even in Early Races, Poll Finds

Clinton has struggled to match the enthusiasm generated by Sanders, from building a grassroots fundraising network to drawing large crowds.
Aides have long believed that the media ignores polls that show Sanders performing better in head-to-head match-ups against Republicans.
“The Clinton campaign’s attacks might be more compelling if the Secretary had not been on every side of the gun control issue in the last 15 years”, he added.

The Clinton campaign boasted a $37 million fourth quarter, but Sanders was right behind with $33 million.
Sanders campaign manager Jeff Weaver said that Clinton’s focus on the guns issue reflects a desire to distract from her vulnerabilities elsewhere.
Furthermore, the political terrain becomes far more favorable for Clinton beyond Iowa and New Hampshire.
That is not the only sign of vulnerability for Clinton. Bill Clinton is returning to New Hampshire and Chelsea Clinton is making her campaign debut there next week.
Mrs. Clinton holds a slim, 48%-to-45% lead over the Vermont senator among likely Democratic caucusgoers in Iowa, the survey finds. “There are parts of it that made sense to me”, Sanders said. “Secretary Clinton and her team are getting nervous and nasty because the so-called inevitable nominee anointed by the establishment eight months ago doesn’t look so inevitable anymore”.
“There are some people who suggest that, ‘Well, Bernie Sanders might be a nice guy, or not a nice guy … but, you know what, he can’t win”.
