Hillary Clinton Campaign Says It Raised $37M in Fourth Quarter
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton speaks and meets with Iowa voters at a town hall meeting in Fairfield, Iowa on Tuesday evening December 22, 2015.
In 2015, Clinton set a goal to raise at least $100 million by the end of December – a benchmark the campaign says it has surpassed, hauling in more than $112 million in primary money for the year.
The politics of guns have changed so much that the move for more gun control now appeals to more than just the base of the Democratic party, Bennett said, meaning Obama’s move will likely give Clinton a boost in the general election. But she crossed it by raising more than United States dollars 112 million in primary money for the year. “Helping Democratic candidates win up and down the ticket is a top priority for Hillary Clinton which is why she’s also proud to be doing her part to ensure Democrats have the resources we need to win”.
This beats a fundraising goal of $100 million set by the campaign earlier in the year, reports CNN. Heading into the January sprint toward the leadoff Iowa caucuses on February 1, Clinton’s campaign said it has almost $38 million in cash on hand.
The labor-intensive process, which required Clinton to criss-cross the country on both the campaign and fundraising trail, saw the former secretary of state headline fundraisers in 20 states and Washington, D.C. Berie Sanders, has hinted at large fundraising numbers, but has yet to announce his fourth quarter numbers.
President Obama’s bold move on gun control bodes well for Democratic presidential front-runner Hillary Clinton, who will score political points for supporting similar policies, experts told the Herald. But her campaign has also received a wave of smaller donations, particularly after Clinton’s testimony before the Benghazi committee in Congress and following her debate performances, aides said.
