Hillary Clinton fires shots at Donald Trump on SNL
This time she was in character as a bartender named Val, chatting up Hillary Clinton, played now by Kate McKinnon.
In a standard “SNL” setup, the show’s fake Clinton, played by Kate McKinnon, came face to face with the real thing.
“Oh, Val, I’m just so darn bummed”, McKinnon says to Clinton.
In the exchange, McKinnon poked fun at how long it took Clinton to come to the conclusion that she opposed the Keystone XL Pipeline.
But three of the sketches that will be most remembered didn’t include Cyrus at all: Hillary Clinton Meets Her Doppelganger, Sorority Girls Wake Up To A World Filled With Taylor Swift Squad Clones and Donald And Melania Trump Talks About His Being President. It was arguably the biggest misstep of her Presidential campaign so far.
When asked what she does for a living, McKinnon imitates Clinton’s monotone speaking, “First, I am a grandmother”.
“Fair point”, the real Clinton said. She’s also unafraid to try out a wacky Donald Trump impression and break into song alongside McKinnon. [Her ability to communicate his particular concoction of smug-buffoon indicates that she has been working on this impression for a while, perhaps in her free time.] Also, may we just say, Hillary Clinton was the crispest bartender this side of the 1930s.
“I could have supported it sooner”, she says.
In a hilarious move, Darrell Hammond enters the bar as Bill Clinton and is both shocked and disappointed. Clinton stated. Clinton’s appearance on SNL comes as the Democratic front-runner is making an attempt to soften her image, making her appear more sympathetic & open to scrutiny. She was amusing in “The Millennials”, a slightly new take on the same old criticisms we’ve heard a million times about kids these days. “Donald Trump? Isn’t he the one that’s like ‘Ugh, you’re all losers, ‘” Clinton said.
She then asked, “Do you think he will win the primaries?”
Saturday was the season premiere of the venerable NBC late-night show’s 41st season, and the stakes were high. Clinton didn’t clarify she would welcome a ruling from the Supreme Court in favor of same-sex marriage until April. “Second, I am a human, endowed with this one green Earth”.
