Hillary Clinton In Greensboro, NC; First Event Since Break For Pneumonia
Hillary Clinton’s doctor on Wednesday declared her healthy and said she is “recovering well” from pneumonia and remains “fit to serve as President of the United States”.
Hillary Clinton’s campaign released additional medical information regarding the Democratic U.S. presidential nominee’s health after details of her having been diagnosed with pneumonia emerged earlier this week.
The doctor also said that Clinton was “up to date” on her vaccinations and has normal mammogram and breast ultrasound.
The Democratic presidential candidate faces increased scrutiny about her health after a video showed her staggering while getting into a van on Sunday.
In North Carolina, Clinton opened her press conference by focusing on Donald Trump, blasting his comments about Flint, Mich., Pastor Faith Green Timmons after she asked him to refrain from making political messages at her church Wednesday.
While Clinton has released more information than Trump – both about her health and financial history – her campaign’s handling of her pneumonia underscored her penchant for privacy, something that has contributed to the public’s lack of trust in the former secretary of state.
Ever the showman, Trump’s appearance on “The Dr. Oz Show” was billed by the campaign as a discussion about his general well-being and his family’s medical history.
The statement was part of medical information Mrs Clinton’s campaign released after her diagnosis last week. She was expected to take more extensive questions later Thursday. Respondents also said by a margin of 54-37 that Trump was more transparent than Clinton.
Trump taped the episode in NY that will air on Thursday, in which he gave host Dr Mehmet Oz a summary of a physical exam conducted last week.
“She continues to remain healthy and fit to serve as President of the United States”, said Dr. Lisa Bardarck, Clinton’s personal doctor.
With polls tightening in the US presidential race, Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton returned to the campaign trail Thursday after taking several days off to battle a case of pneumonia.
The CBS News/New York Times poll, released on Thursday, shows both Trump and Clinton have support of 42 percent.
According to the poll, 45 percent of Trump voters say they are very enthusiastic about voting, compared to 36 percent of Clinton voters.
The note from the campaign said that Trump was examined September 9 by Bornstein, who wrote that the candidate is examined annually every spring.
Bardack added that Clinton “was recovering well with antibiotics” which she was told to take for 10 days. “I’ve said it from the very beginning – whether I was up, down.it didn’t matter”, Clinton said.
Trump, too, has said he plans to release the details of a recent physical this week.
After Clinton’s bout with pneumonia was disclosed, health became a major topic of the campaign because Trump is 70 and Clinton will be 69 next month.
