Hillary Clinton Now Beating Donald Trump by More Than 2.5 Million Votes
The Trump-won states where electors could still vote for Clinton do not have laws against so-called “faithless electors”, those who decide to vote against the candidate who won the state they’re in, according to FairVote, a nonprofit for free elections. Trump, while winning numerous states by relatively narrow margins, won the Electoral College, 306-232. “This petition is unprecedented, but Donald Trump is an unprecedented danger to the Constitution”. Twice in the last five presidential elections the popular vote victor lost. Why?
Al Gore now believes the Electoral College should be replaced by a national popular vote. Today, citizens have a far better chance of knowing about out-of-state presidential candidates than knowing about presidential electors from their home states. The move comes after Hillary Clinton won the popular vote by over two million votes, but lost to Republican Donald Trump in electoral votes.
Stein raised more than $9 million in donations for recounts in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and MI – states critical to the 2016 election – an effort labeled by Trump as a “scam”. “But they can vote however they want and there is no legal means to stop them in most states”.

Anne Arundel County Councilman Michael Peroutka on Thursday urged local Republicans to lobby Maryland legislators for a new approach to the way the state awards its Electoral College votes. It is rare for electors to defy their pledge, so Trump most likely will be president.
Ms Clinton has 65,250,000 votes compared to the President-elect’s 62,686,000 votes, the newspaper reports.
At least seven people have stated they will be “faithless electors”, calling themselves “Hamilton Electors”. After all, the people voted for their representatives to the federal legislature.
Each state is allocated a number of electors equal to the number of its U.S. senators (always two) plus the number of its USA representatives (which may change each decade according to the size of each state’s population as determined in the Census).
