Hillary Clinton’s Economic Speech
Hillary Clinton gave a detailed economic speech in a factory in MI where she talked up the possibilities of the future, without mentioning the current occupant of the White House. “The answer is to finally make trade work for us, not against us”, Clinton added. I’ll oppose it after the election.
Trump has previously criticized Clinton for supporting the Iraq War in 2003 while she was a U.S. senator. “But it would do nothing for 99.8 percent of Americans”. A campaign aide says she will describe Trump’s proposals as “wildly unrealistic” and “destructive to the economy”.
Hillary Clinton also listed $1.475 million in gross income from speaking, and Bill reported $5.25 million in gross income from speaking.
She said there’s too much inequality and too little upward mobility, seeking to win over supporters of Sen. Clinton, who has backed many of those deals in the past, sought to address blue-collar worries about her trade views. “We are way overdue for this”, she said.
“Your move”, Clinton campaign aide Ian Sams said on Twitter, linking to the Democratic nominee’s returns.
“We have the most dynamic, productive workforce in the world, bar none”.
Clinton said: Look forward. Instead, she is running even harder on the progressive agenda that she and Bernie Sanders built after the Democratic primary. “Anyone who is concerned about peace should be against Clinton”.
Secret Service communications director Cathy Milhoan said Tuesday in a statement that “the U.S. Secret Service is aware of Mr. Trump’s comments”, and an agency spokesman declined to comment further Thursday, citing the Secret Service’s “apolitical” nature.
Clinton also tried to convince lower and middle class voters who support Trump that the GOP nominee is working against their interests.
She contrasted that with Trump’s proposal to reduce the corporate tax rate from 35 percent to 15 percent, calling it the “Trump loophole” because “it would allow him to pay less than half the current tax rate on many of his businesses”.
“She’s the queen of war”, said Dennis Marburger of Bloomfield Township, holding an “I oppose the next war” sign.
“When Donald Trump visited Detroit on Monday, he talked only of failure, poverty, and crime”, Clinton said.
She spoke in rust-belt MI at Futuramic Tool & Engineering – an auto parts supplier that remade itself into an aerospace company – to stress the kinds of advanced manufacturing jobs we need to help rebuild America’s middle class.
“One of my first acts as president will be to repeal and replace disastrous Obamacare, saving another 2 million American jobs”, said Trump.
“America’s best days are still ahead of us if we make up our minds to actually go out and make that happen”, Clinton said, noting that Trump “hasn’t offered any credible solutions” on economic challenges.
As a result of his brash style of campaigning, Trump has witnessed falling poll numbers that show him losing out to Clinton nationally and in most of the hotly-contested states.
The last two surveys of the state, one by the Detroit Free Press and WXYZ-TV and the other by the Detroit News and WDIV-TV, found Clinton leading by 10 and 9 percentage points respectively. She also promised to improve schools and water systems, expand broadband access and invest in clean energy.
Hillary Clinton made $28,296 in royalties from her book published, Simon & Schuster-as well as $3,000,000 from the publisher, presumably the last payment of her advance for her last book, Hard Choices, which came out in paperback past year.
