Hillary Grows Annoyed Over Questions About Wall Street Speech Transcripts
Bernie Sanders said Sunday it’s up to his Democratic presidential rival Hillary Clinton to decide whether to release transcripts from her paid speeches to Wall Street banks. They also featured in the 2008 presidential campaign, when Clinton said she regretted the vote. Sanders’ “criminal justice platform resonated with me because I am a mother of an African-American young male”, she said, adding that Sanders has adopted the Black Lives Matter activist movement and ending police brutality as parts of his platform.
The “Bernie bro” has largely been defined as a Sanders backer who aggressively and condescendingly attacks Clinton and her supporters online on social media, often in a way that’s perceived to have a gendered inclination. Clinton still leads in the new Quinnipiac University poll. “It is for all these reasons that I am proud to endorse Bernie Sanders for president of these United States”.
CNN’s Jake Tapper asked Clinton about the implication from the Sanders campaign that Clinton changed her vote on a bankruptcy bill fifteen years ago as a senator. Because you know there was a march among the chattering class to anoint Sen. Citing the state’s record of voting for women, including Senator Jeanne Shaheen and Governor Maggie Hassan, who were among the women leaders who joined Clinton on stage, Clinton suggested that an upset might be possible, if Granite State voters focus on her experience and concrete plans. And we will do everything we can, and I think we have tried.
The survey, carried out after this week’s Iowa caucuses which Clinton won by a hair, reveals Sanders closing in on the former secretary of state and longtime frontrunner. “I want a commander in chief that I can be proud of, and for us to have those two things – and we’re going to SC next – we need to figure out how to win nationally”. She said she would travel to Flint, Mich., at the request of the mayor to see what assistance she can offer the city, which is dealing with a water crisis. Sanders led Clinton, 58%-35% in the poll – a sizable lead, but not as big as a week ago, when he led her by a 2-1 margin.
But Sanders closely trails Clinton among voters under the age of 45, according to a recent poll.
Much of the polling was conducted before the final GOP debate before the New Hampshire primary, from February 4-6, among 508 likely Republican primary voters. On that day there will be nine primaries in states collectively more representative of the national electorate than Iowa or New Hampshire.
“I think it was a useful exercise for me because it also enabled me to kind of think through where I was in the assessment of what I would do next”.
It was a late night for the top seven republican presidential candidates at Saturday night’s debate at St. Anselm’s College.
“Leadership is about standing up and being counted when the times are rough even when you are in a minority situation”, Sanders told Democrats last night at the 100 Club Celebration, a New Hampshire Democratic Party fundraiser at the Verizon Wireless Arena in Manchester.
